ENCLOSED TRANSFORMERS

Isolating & Safety isolating class 1 power transformers manufactured in NZ by TSL to ASNZS 3108 / ASNZS 61558.
Enclosed construction mild steel IP40 with terminals, short circuit / overload protection fitted (Short circuit proof).
Dual secondary (output) windings, these may be linked in series or parallel. 50/60Hz.
Industrial controls, power electronics, etc. Operating frequency 50..60Hz 

• “Incorporated transformer” A transformer which is intended to be installed into an appliance or device, the enclosure of which provides class I or II protection.
  
• “Class I” The transformer is fitted with an earth terminal which must be connected to a protective earthing conductor. (must be earthed)
  
• “Class II” The transformer has no provision for connection to a protective earthing conductor. (no earth required)
  
• “SELV” The output of the transformer is Safety Extra Low Voltage, less than 50vac.
  
• “LV” The output of the transformer is Low Voltage, greater than 50vac, but less than 1000vac.
  
• “Non short circuit proof” A transformer which is intended to be protected against short circuit and overload by and external device not provided with the transformer. Protection rating indicated on the transformer label.
  
• “Short circuit proof” A transformer which is provided with a protect device which protects the transformer against short circuit and overload.
  
• “Protective device” A fuse, circuit breaker or thermal trip which protects the transformer against excessive current flow due to a short circuit or overload condition. Protective device is fitted in either the input or output circuit.
